.30 Remington Brass ??

Post by pshort »

Howdy,
A friend has a Remington Model 8 in .30 Remington.. He's internet handicapped, so I'm trying to help
him out... He has dies, so new or once fired brass would be fine..
Anyway, I'm looking for 20 to 50 cases..
Every place I've called has nothing....
Anyone have anything to part with..?

Thank you,

Paul

Did you try Buffalo Arms in Sandpoint Idaho?
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

As of 4/9/16, Buffalo Arms:

-- Does not have .30 Remington brass. Per the website, it has been discontinued by Remington.

-- Buffalo Arms reformed .30 Remington brass is on back order.

-- Buffalo arms custom loaded 150 grain .30 Remington ammunition is also on back order.

Have you tried Sixgun's brass factory? :D

25 empty with 5 loaded R-P factory. The empties have been case annealed....something that is needed to be done on old brass or it will split

I seriously doubt the case has been "discontinued" by Remington, especially since it is the basis for their 6.8 cartridge. It is just one of those which is only made occasionally. And probably "occasionally" won't happen as long as there is an Obama in the White House and a threat of a Hillary, with the consequent huge demand for all the popular cartridges.

Remington made a run of 30 Rem about 4 years ago and they were readily available for about a year and then for another couple more years if you paid a premium. I had found some on "Gunbroker" sometime within this past year, but when I checked a few minutes ago there were a few boxes of high-priced old ammunition but no cases. So maybe we are a bit overdue for that "occasional" run.

I might have a few left. I sold my 141/30, and most of the brass. I'll check tomorrow and report back.

Can we ship loaded ammo in the Mail, USPS ?

Paul,
Sure, you may have all 30 (25 mt/5 loaded) and because I thing you are a very cool dude and a loyal conservative, I will reduce the price $10 for a total of $20.

This is all I have and you will be dammed forever as when I do things like this, a like new Remington Model 14 deluxe engraved carbine is sure to come my way. :D ------6

No, but you can by way of UPS or FedEx but you have to use a ORM-D label:

I've posted this before but you can make them from 30-30s. I find a drill blank that just fits inside the mouth and chuck that and the neck in a collet and put a live center in the primer pocket. Turn off the rim and grind yourself a tool that will cut an extractor groove. Cut the groove and there you have it. Use 30-30 data to load.

Thanks for that, M.M.
If Remington really does quit making their occasional run of these, your technique will look really good to us 30 Rem shooters.
