A Levergun Magazine

Post by Rusty »

I lost track of my local news stand. They moved some time back and I just found them again today. One of the first things I found when I walked in is a new magazine put out by Shooting Times. "The Shooting Times book of Winchester Models 94 & 70" should be on the news stand near you for at least a while. There are articles on restoring the '94,Remembering the '94, Mastering the '94 and more.
I haven't had a chance to read much in it yet but it looks pretty good.

I wish. :( There's a dearth of any firearms related publications 'round these parts. I've found one or two over the years in the Bogotá airport books store, but that's a LONG way from Coffee Country and I don't go up there any more than I have to.

Two reasons I don't subscribe to some of the gun magazines I like:

1. I can pick and choose issues with articles I'm really interested in.

2. I like to buy them when I see them in Kroger or Wal-Mart or other stores with magazine sections, to keep their statistics 'up' on the gun magazines.

Oh yeah . . .

3. My wife would kill me if I subscribed to any more gun magazines...

I don't have any subscriptions to any guns mags right now. I think I might subscribe to "Rifle" magazine I like to read the articles by Brian Pearce.

I don't subscribe to any mags at all. One of the things I did to cut down on expenses. Because of that though, my favorite present to receive are subscriptions that friends or family send as gifts. I used to subscribe to 15 or so, mostly archery or firearms or sailing related. Now, I spend time in the local borders reading the issues in the store. Getting to the point now where the mags are mostly advertisements. I can go through four or five mags in a sitting and that is money wasted if I had to pay for them.
