For Non-Connoisseurs Only

Post by Pete44ru »

.

A flyer was mailed out today stating that Wal-Mart will soon be offering customers a new discount item: Wal-Mart's own brand of wine.

The worlds largest retailer is teaming up with E&J Gallo of California to produce spirits at an affordable price, in the $2 - $5 range.

Kathy Micken, a professor of marketing, said: "the right name will be important for success."

So Wal-Mart did a customer survey to determine the most attractive brand name for Wal-Mart Vineyard wine.

The top survey names, in reverse order of popularity, are:

#10) Chateau Traileur Parc

#9 ) White Trashfindel

#8 ) Big Red Gulp

#7 ) World Championship Riesling

#6 ) NASCARbernet

#5 ) Chef Boyardeaux

#4 ) Peanut Noir

#3 ) I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar

#2 ) Grape Expectations

And....... the most popular name for the new Wal-Mart wine:

#1 ) Nasti Spumante

(note): The beauty of Wal-Mart wine will be that it can be served with either white meat/possum, or red meat/squirrel.

I've heard of that one, it was given a 5 star rating by the noted beverage reviewer, I. P. Freely

Any of you Military types spend time in ROK? They had this really inexpensive bubbly stuff called Oscar....Tasted like soda pop, but would put you down for the count, and was the absolute worst hangover ever....
