At the risk of heavily offending Sixgun...
... what do you get when you combine this...
... a label maker, with a touch of OCD and a organization fetish, plus some free time over the Christmas holidays a few months ago - plus lousy weather outside?
Organization galore!

Mixture - some are mine, some are store bought (well, gun show or internet; darn few "gun stores" carry any decent reloading supplies around these parts... )
And before Sixgun accuses me of eating my weight in snacks (partially true - just over time), I've been buying a lot of containers on the cheap from Wally World, then got in a couple boxes from a company called "Uline".

Apparently I need to buy a label maker, cause I need that organization, or at least better than ammo cans and Sharpie scribbling down the side. Nicely done.

Re: At the risk of heavily offending Sixgun...
I am too darned cheap to buy, and actually use, a label maker. I use old defunct bidness cards to make all my labels. When I ran out of those I just bought boxes of unprinted bidness cards and awaaaaay we went in fine organized style. EVERYTING in my shop is labeled. I know where EVERYThING in my shop currently resides. EVERYTHING is NEVER EVER lost. I HATE losing things. MY wife is FORBiDDEN to enter or use ANYTHING in my shop BECAUSE SHE NEVER EVER PUTS ANYTHING BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM !!! nEED PROOF: THE first four months we were married she lost her car keys every G..d... day....And NO i am not kidding even one little !!! SO...she got her own tool box...bought her own tools...etc...etc...and stays permantly outta my stuff, FOREVER.
I still have to help her find her g..d... cell phone at least once a week.....
And so it goes...

I have 6 rooms downstairs and the loading room is the only 1 not all cluttered up. I got smart and put a half door 4' high on it with a bungy Cord on it were you cant open it with stuff in your hands against the cord and so i find a spot in another room.works out good 2.

Funniest posts I have read in a very long time. Wow, my loading bench is a school desk crammed with a Dylan 550B, a Lyman turret and a mechanical powder drop and case trimmer mounted on the extreme edges. And a lot of shelving above. Wish I had as much room as you guys! Darn funny posts!!!!

This is huge on my to do list, I'm not able to do much right now, major problems with the nerves in my right leg and lots of pain in my right side. Doctors have finally figured out its not my lower spine , I have been telling them thats not where the pain is.
Anyway, I have to clean up and build some walls down in my basement. I have my bench all built, but that need some more work. I have some ideas in mind, but the one really big question is how not to trap or box in the fuel oil tank, breaker box, water supply. I really dont want to build some nice man cave and have to rip it down to fix something or repair something.
The builder just put the furnace and water supply ect, where he wanted it. I was working, then came to check each night on the progress, and in one day, stubbed out the plumbing and put the furnace in, by then it was too late to stop. Then because of building codes, the electric panel has to be x amount of feet from water entry, the fuel oil tank have to be so far away from the furnace, all in all, I have every wall with something that might need to be worked on.
But I might box out the "stuff". At least it wont be such an eyesore, when the rest is done.

For me? My reloading area is in a portion of our unfinished basement. One of the reasons I wanted an unfinished basement and have resisted my wife's attempts to finish it - I have "my space" and can spread out. I only have decorating descretion (final say) on three areas of the house - my home office, my garage, and my basement. Everything else is her domain!

Like I said, a form of sickness for sure!
I've always been this way. I used to have a lot of shelves in my bedroom when I was growing up. My brothers would take no end of delight in going in and turning one of my nicknacks 90 degrees. They would then take bets on how long it would be until I discovered it and restored whatever it was to its proper position. Anyone betting in hours versus minutes lost!

Re: At the risk of heavily offending Sixgun...
That is actually part of the reason I got this done. My back flared up in late October and I spent all of November flat in bed. Took Workers Comp almost a month to approve a nerve root block injection. So over the Christmas holiday I was laying low, trying not to aggravate it, and looking for something to do that was productive. This was it.SteveR wrote: This is huge on my to do list, I'm not able to do much right now, major problems with the nerves in my right leg and lots of pain in my right side. The builder who built our house (we are the second owners) did much the same thing in the basement. Just plopped stuff where he wanted without ever thinking through what someone would need to do to finish it. This actually helps me put the wife off finishing it - because I don't want to lose my space. However, it would be nice to wall off my area and be able to lock it up. Between the furnance and water heater though, it would really cut up the basement and be a PITA.

Kid,
THAT is what I call exceptional organizational skills! WELL DONE, YOUNG MAN! You got the job steady!
Yes, I am a absolute firm believer in the old adage, "There's a place for everything, and everything in it's place".
Most of us white guys who have jobs usually have little time to do the "fun things", especially after doing yard and family chores so why waste any of that precious time looking for this or that.
When I want something, I go right for it.
You would be surprised as to how much you can get done in an organized environment vs. a craphole.-------6

Re: At the risk of heavily offending Sixgun...
Pleased with myself today!!! Thanks to all you guys with your spiffy reloading rooms, I got incentivized (Is that a real word? Looks peculiar.). Anyway, there I was out in my shop building this afternoon straightening up and cleaning off my reloading bench, and also putting things away where they belong and resorting/storing supplies found scattered about. Even found some loading manuals under piles of other stuff on the bench. I don't really know how it got so cluttered and trashy out there. Heck, I even loaded 50 rounds of .44 mag. about 3 weeks ago. Guess just shoving stuff to clear a spot to work sufficed that day. Also found some things I had forgotten I'd bought or traded for several years back. I'd just stashed them at the first place I came to after coming home that day. You guys with your tidy reloading area have been good for me, but I still have a serious long ways to go before I can compete with our more OCD afflicted members.
By the way, I "rediscovered" several hundred .348 Win. bullets and brass I'd bought over the years I owned a Browning 71. Sold it a few years back. Is there a good market for .348 bullets and brass, or is everybody with a 71 overstocked with them like I am? I mean, how many bullets for a 71 does somebody need? Would think 20 to 40 reloaded cartridges would serve anyone's hunting requirements with that caliber for several years.
Anyhow thank you guys for this show and tell post, as it spurred me to do something long needed for my set-up.
