Browning 92 357 pics and mini range report (alas my Rossi)

I finally got to take my Browning model 92 in 357 mag to the range. Just for fun I took my slicked up Rossi SRC as well (action job by 'Will Shootem'). As an added bonus my dad went with me.
We went to a public range so I don't have the targets with me. We fired Magtech 158 grain SJHP (I couldn't find SJSP) at 25 yards to make sure we were on paper, then moved to 50 yards for groups. After a few minor corrections the Browning was scary accurate and glassy smooth. I was shooting 3-shot groups that touched about 2 inches high at 50 yards. We shot offhand as well, pretending that the bull was the heart and the target was a nice 4 point mulie. We put a lot of meat on the ground!

I had some 38 Special with me, but the Browning didn't like to feed the shorter cartridges. I had to "double clutch" the lever to get it to feed, so we put it away.
The real disappointment was the Rossi, especially after the Browning. I had some sight work done because it shot too high and yep, now it shoots too low. I'll get 'Will' to put on a lower post then I think I'll sell her. I have 2 Marlins, the Browning, and the Rossi, all in 357. One of the Marlins I'm saving for my son and the other is mine. The Rossi is extra so I think I'll turn it into a Blackhawk in 357.

Nice! Years ago I had a old octogon barrel 92 win in shotout 25/20. I had it bored and converted to .357. Fool me traded it off. Also had it refinshed and new wood. That was 40 years ago. I later ran across 2 92 brownings about 25 years ago one in .357 & other in .44 mag like new. cheap. I bought the .44. Still have it. Loloking for that .357!

I'm a Browning 92 fan as well. Have them in .357 and .44 magnum. I like 'em both. The .357 does get more use though. I surprised myself the other day and was loading up the Browning and for some reason thought I'll load just one more which was number eleven in the tube !! For some reason I thought that she only held ten, now this is after having this rifle for many years. Guess my time with a Winchester 94 has affected my expectations of how many rounds a lever action rifle will hold. So I did some shooting and tried it again, you know just in case I had miscounted, well eleven it is.
I use the Remington bulk 158 gr JSP in my reloads with Lil gun or 2400 for a everyday walking around load. I use the Hornady 180 gr XTP's for serious work. Tried the Remington 180's and they will not cycle dependably.
