Any of them single, late 40's to mid 50's?

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

Well that's kinda fun, but unless you gift us with a couple of killer recipes, it didn't happen.

Just got them, have not had a chance to look through them; the kids are at a BBQ at the Rustler's Roost.

I too have a lot of females in my house, they tend to smell nice, are very neat, and like to cook, all good things. I have so many in fact I could afford to trade at least one for some .22 ammo. It is also a good opportunity to train my boy to take advantage of the fact that, while they often tend to do their "woman" thing all at the same time, it is, at least once a month, time to leave for a few days to hunt, fish, or just hop in the truck and roll. We nearly always return to find that the woman thing has produced copious piles of cookies, brownies, cakes etc., and there is usually some left for us.

I would expect those cookbooks are worth more sentimental value than you could put a price on. I hope there are some recipes that you really like in there.

Problem with cookbooks of that vintage is that their recipies usually cannot be translated into English.

"Crack 2 eggs into the blue bowl, then add enough sugar and lard to be creamy before you put the flour in
.."

(I have recipies from great gran that read exactly like that...)

Good on your clutch of females, Mescalero ! (for gifting you the cookbooks)

IMO, a formal recipe is only a rough guideline (they all need some tweakin'), OI - so I'm with yer Great Gran.

Well, can't speak for Mescalero, but in my experience I have never seen a married cookbook.

Oh Lordy, a HOUSE full of females? I happen to know for 100% certainty that you cannot put TWO females in the same house. At least if they are Italian.....cat fight everyday. They all want to be the alpha female. :D

On a positive note, did they bring any .22 ammo?-------6
