True West Magazine?

Post by rbertalotto »

This weekend at the three day Tri-State Championships up here in Massachusetts, the grab bag contained a copy of True West magazine. I thought this magazine was fantastic and just subscribed for a year. Lots of great stuff on their home page for free.

Just thought I'd give a Shout Out to a sponsor for our events.

I have seen it, and bought an issue or 2, but never really got into it. It seemed well written to me. I hope they continue to fit your needs. It sure beats the stuffing out of most magazines that I see on the shelves.

Thanks for the link, I'll be reading articles there often I think.

The magazine has been around for a very long time and has lots of information. You can get back issues on disc. I did a search and found in a 1930's issue a reprint of an interview with my Great Grandfather which first appeared in the Pecan Valley Times (Brownwood, Texas) in 1901. It was about the big fight between the Texas Rangers under Rip Ford (1859) and the Comanche. Their big chief Iron Jacket was killed in that battle. Iron Jacket was the Grandfather of Quanah Parker.
