I have a Marlin Guide Gun in 45/70 with a Leupold 1-4x shotgun scope mounted in Millet steel rings in a traditional turn-in/dovetail front base and the windage adjustable rear base . I have lost confidence in the rear windage adjustable rear base. I believe that dual dovetail bases are much stronger and less likely to move under recoil or knocks and bangs of real world hunting. What do you use ?
Thanks, Goat
What scope bases and rings?

I believe that Weaver tip-offs can't be beat at any price. I use Weavers.
