Always good to see what the oldies-but-goodies can do.

If you go by what the Gunwriters say, those guns couldn't be accurate enough to hit out past 25 yards reliably, and wouldn't have enough power at that range to do much more than wound a feral housecat...

That was fun to watch. I do wonder about who the unlucky person was who had to drink all that moo juice.

Nice shooting and nicer rifles. :D Is the cc takedown the 25-36? You don't see many nice takedown 1893's.

How about your loads? My guess is 9 gr. of Unique for the 38-55 and 18 gr. of 4198 for the 25-36.----6

I came across an old, square-bolt .30-30 this weekend, at a show. It was indeed a classy looking gun. I must learn more about them.

Beautiful rifle. In my opinion it is walking proof that Marlins are as appealing as Winchesters. They lock up the barrel differently. There appears to be a dovetail of sorts to lock the barrel to the receiver.

I'm guessing the lever around the barrel receiver intersect locks things up? Obviously no half turn interrupted thread like a Winchester. That strikes me like a dandy method for repeatability of the lock up.
