Omg!!! 45-70 brass is outrageous

Post by wvfarrier »

I was running low on brass and went to order more and Lord have mercy the cost of brass has really gone up. It's awful.

Yup. Then try to buy some with powder, primer, and bullet factory installed.
I bought some used 45-70 brass on here a couple weeks back from Old Ironsights. Was glad to get it.

I had thought about buying some but I found a big coffee can with 65 pieces of real nice 45-70 brass Saturday. I mixed up a batch of Kirk's brass cleaner and did them Saturday nite. Today they are all ready to drop the powder and bullets in.

Everything's relative ! If you don't need it , it may very well be expensive or overpriced . But if you need it and there's no getting around if them I tend to look at it more as PRICELESS!!!!!

That price isn't too bad - but they don't have it on hand and estimate at least 90 days.

If the military in its transition to lead free bullets decides to adopt a design with high copper content we can expect it to go up even more.

I think the price of 45/70 brass is expensive and somewhat hard to find because the US Military must be using it in Afghanistan or Homeland Security is hoarding it for the US Post-Office...just saying... :)

Call Cabela's and have them do a check for you. Saw 222 Mag brass at the Rogers or Owatonna loacales not to long ago. Am assuming you also know you can neck up 204 brass if you get really Desperate.

Was at Track of the Wolf in October. Desk guys were really knowledge and great to talk to.
