Savage 99 EG and game

Post by Ragnor »

First deer that I shot with the 99EG in 300 Savage. Did the job perfectly. I know how to shoot a Lever Gun!

Former owner of mine took a smallish deer at 267 yds with a 150 gr Silvertip. It is capable of 3 shot group of less than 3/4" at 100 yds. Great rifles - good work.
In the High Desert of Southern Calif. ..."on the cutting edge of going back in time"...

I have also taken notice on how accurate these rifles are. I was shooting my 99C at 100 yds with a Lapua Mega 150 gr and did 3 quick shots just to see if it was still on and shot a clover leaf group. And also these rifles get noticed by the younger crowd as something they have never seen or heard of before or would consider taking into the woods.

I think the EG model of the 99 Savage is the best looking gun they ever made. I own several, all shoot good. Good hunting!!

Excellent!!!, as I have said here many times before if the Savage 99 would have been introduced today it would have taken the sporting world by storm. I have a 99 takedown made in 1913 that shoots well. The look on shooters Faces that have never seen one is priceless, when You take it down and reassemble it in about 5 seconds. 8) .
