OT - My Home Made Alcohol Stoveâ€™s (pictures)

A project I made about 3 yrs. ago.

The stoves and pot stand are made from two soda cans and some scrap aluminum flashing.

One fill of the stove will easily make a pot of boiling water for hot tea or coffee. Or warm up a can of baked beans or Spaghetti-

â€™s in the pot.

Nothing like it on those cold days out deer hunting. (warms the hands as well)

How long will it burn on a fill?

Long enough to bring that pot full of water to a boil.

I have found that the pressurized stove works best for warming
up a can of soup or beans. It has a longer burn time with less
intense heat output. (less likely to burn the beans

The non pressurized stove boils a pot of water fast.

I make the "micro" Zens out of Red Bull cans...

They are a neat invention.

(I prefer running Denatured ofer 99% or 91% Iso...)

Thats cool. I may have to give it a try. Do you just put in the fuel threw the center opening?

I have been using Juniors Hobo stove for my hunting trips. I either fill it with charcoal or with sticks and twigs. Works great for cooking up a can of cornbeef hash to put on toast.

Pretty soon that "bug-out-bag" is going to be too heavy to lift let alone carry.

The nice thing about those little burners is that they are ultra light and you don't have to carry fuel for them.

Got Vodka/Whiskey? It will work. Not as well as Everclear or Iso, but it wll work.

Great post Casastahle, thanks. I poked around the web site for a while before deciding to give the penny stove a try (http://www.csun.edu/~mjurey/stoveinstruct.html) using Heineken cans. Took a couple hours or so to sort everything out, but it makes quite an impressive little stove that runs well on barely any fuel. Now I need to use the 24 oz. Heineken keg cans to see what happens with a large pot boiler!
