Picked up my 1894C in .357 yesterday

Post by Triggernosis »

Got it off GunBroker and picked it up from my local FFL. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but my first impressions when I took it out of the box was "it's certainly a cute little fellow". It was much smaller than I thought it would be and I may have to add a spacer under the recoil pad to lengthen the pull a little.
I'm thinking, though, that it's going to be a lot of fun.

I have one of those and I shoot it more than anything else including .22s. It's just a fun rifle to hold and shoot. It's powerful enough to turn a grapefruit into a cloud of pink mist, but is easy on the shoulder. You can't beat that.

Congrats and great choice. I picked up a new one in February. I borrowed my father-in-law's last fall for deer hunting. His is a pre-safety that I could not talk him into selling to me, although he didn't have a problem with a long term loan. So I went out and bought my own. The only thing I've done is delete the cross bolt safety. I'm very happy with mine and would not trade it for anything.

I'm sorry gentlemen, for not posting pictures - I'll try to take some this weekend.
I'm in the final stages of homebuilding, so I likely won't even get to shoot it until after a couple of weeks or so. I'll try to post a review after I run a few rounds through it.
