Having been a short order cook in a couple of greasy spoons for most of my college years, I'm a little more patient with waitresses than many. I've seen 2 waitresses try and handle things when there should have been 5, but someone's kid got sick, another quit earlier in the day, and the third was just a no-show. Or sometimes they are expecting 100 people total on a Thurs nite, and some Amway meeting gets out and floods the place all at once with customers. Now if they are just standing around talking about their boyfriends...yea...I get P.O.ed..

Restaurants are pretty weak for stability..so if the service is generally bad for very long they will be out of business in "short order" so to speak.
