I have been saving and using old CCI type sliding plastic topped 22 ammo boxes since they came out in the mid '60's. I even have a couple labeled "Western Auto" - Coast to Coast stores for those who are not "Baby Boomers". Used to buy the .22 ammo in the 50 round paper boxes and the transfer it to the plastic boxes. It was cheaper to buy it in paper boxes than the CCi type plastic boxes with the sliding tops. I probably have over 75 of them now and use them for everything from .22 short through long rifle and .22 WRF to WMR. They never wear out unless you break them by dropping then or run over or hit them. With luck my 7 & 2 year old grandchildren will be using them.
