First Deer of the season

Post by barbarossa »

Got this Doe on the weekend.I was using my Ruger no 3 in 44mag I bought earlier this year for the first time.I
replaced the standard rear sight with one of the Bulls eye type rear peep sights and it is a perfect fit for this type of gun.Well my regular rifle tag is filled but I still have a muzzleloader tag to fill.

Nice doe! That's going to be good eating.

Nice Ruger as well. Like you, I also like hunting with a single shot.

Sometimes I wonder if it is worthwhile gnawing through the leather straps to get up in the morning..................

This is my first experience hunting with a Ruger no 3 and I have to say I m hooked.I think 44mag is an ideal cartridge in this rifle and I believe if when it first came out if it had of been made in 44 mag 357 mag, 44/40 and so on it still would be made today.
