POLITICS - McCain: Pro Gun as E-Bay...?

Post by Old Ironsights »

Sorry if this has appeared elsewhere as I didn't see it.

Meg Whitman, the CEO of eBay (at least until the end of the month), is now co-chair of McCain's campaign.

eBay has never really been that friendly to gun folks, and last year they implemented quite restrictive policies such that you can't sell/buy any parts that are involved in the actual firing of a gun (trigger, barrel, etc. "bullet tips"...).

So what do people think that the CEO is now helping run McCain's campaign?

No such thing.

You are either (neo)Conservative, Liberal or Libertarian.

You can't be "independent" of those political positions/philosophies.

He's certainly not Libertarian, and he's arguably not Conservative... and since Liberals will ACT "conservative" when necessary, where does that leave him?

And I'll second it. And encourage becoming a precinct leader, I'm sick of the "fear" game shoved down our throats be it fear of terrorists or fear of guns or fear of no social safety nets, it's a bunch of hooey.

No surprise about the e-bay CEO, 'ol 100 years in Iraq Juan McCain will take any and all supporters and favors will be returned assuredly. Remember, the candidates have nothing to lose should they not become President.

Then there is Ron Paul who has NOT quit, what favors does "Dr. No" owe? None that I have found.

So what will win out, repubs and the fear of terrorists, or, dems and the fear of no social saftey nets, or NO fear and Liberty. Again I encourage becoming a precinct leader and coming to grip with knee-jerk reactions and fear.

It ain't surrender it's STRATEGY. Honor lives lost in the name of our Constitution with honoring our Constitution, fears be d*m**d.

Ron Paul would be fine with me, but a write-in doesn't stand a chance in the primary. It's really just helping the Obama & Clinton side. McCain isn't my first choice, but he's the lesser of the evils as far as I'm concerned. He's not pro gun, but he's not a huge anti like Osama and Billery either.

Let me tell you guys something about McCain. JReed (Jeremy) will know what I'm talking about as to storage.

In the U. S. Navy, the policy is that a sailor who is single and lives aboard ship or in the barracks and does not have off-base housing or storage facilities can keep a personal firearm in the base armoury with the permission of his CO (Commanding Offier).

Back when McCain was the CO of an Air Squadron he absolutely refused to sign a Request Chit (Permission Slip) for ANY sailor to keep a personal firearm in the Base Armoury. Period!!!! No exceptions -- not even for his Officers. I know because I was there. Naval Air Station North Island, CA -- Lemoore, Fallon, NV, Naval Air Station Norfolk, VA etc.. All stations where McCain left his dirty foot-steps. He is the ONLY CO I ever knew of or heard of to turn down a "Request for Storage of a Personal Firearm".

McCain is anti-gun -- maybe even more so than Clinton and that's saying something.
