POLITICS - CitiCorp refuses to honor charges from Gun Shops

Post by papabear »

CitiCorp Unfair

Recently I received an email from a friend concerning the practice of Citicorp (Citi Bank) refusing to honor any charges from Gun Shops or for any firearm/ammo charges.

I went to SNOPES on the internet to confirm or deny this accusation and could not get any reference to the article. I then went to my local CitiBank office to cancel my credit cards. The local office does not process cancelling credit cards and I was instructed to use the free phone in the office to access credit card services.

Credit card services informed me that they instituted this practice to prevent 12 year olds from using the cards to purchase firearms in order to prevent anything like Columbine happening again. I then informed the person that I was speaking to that 12 year olds cannot legally purchase firearms in the United States and asked how many 12 year olds were being issued credit cards by CitiCorp. I received an “I can’t answer thatâ€

Post by afish4570 »

Called and I got someone who spoke with a strong and hard to understand Indian or Pakastani accent. I managed to ask the question if I should purchase a gun or firearm would my credit card work.......They promptly said it would work and never heard of any problems using the card. I said ,"if I should have a problem I will find another provider....Tues. I'll call the tele.#'s on Hobies blog and see what is going on.afish4570
