1860 Henry Iron Frame joins the family

Post by rbertalotto »

I another post I told how I was on a motorcycle ride and stopped in a number of gun shops. I saw a very nice Uberti 1860 Henry Iron Frame in 44-40 and a AWA Colt Lightning in 38-40. I decided to buy both of them after the store owner offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. BUT....My 13 year old car had another plan.......$1500 worth of repairs to fix the air bag sensor so I could get an inspection sticker...UGH! So I passed on the AWA but I couldn't pass on the Henry. It now lives with us!

I took it to the range last night with some factory 44-40 ammo. Here is the results at 25yds resting the barrel on my range bag:

Believe it or not....That is 5 shots!!!

The rifle is a thing of beauty!

Can't wait to try some handloaded Black Powder rounds through it!

Seems like Uberti is building a pretty nice gun.

The Gun Room in Shrewsbury Massachusetts has one more on the rack...Iron Frame, 45LC (But NOT 1 of 1000).........I paid $900. He has the 45LC listed at $999 but I bet he'd be negotiable.

He has lots of Cowboy Action rifles from Uberti, AWA, Rossi, Winchester..... and some really nice VINTAGE Winchesters, Marlins and Colts SAA.......

I looked at one in the Dixie Gun Works showroom this morning when I stopped in there for a few minutes. If I was looking for a Henry, that would be the one.
44-40 Winchester. Whacking varmits and putting meat on the table since 1873.

Nice one. I have one but it is not a 1 of 1000. Neat version!
38-55 & 38/44 What a combination!
