Looks good Steve, just like the ones we fired at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 1958. We shot them from the shoulder and the ground position that you show.

I think you just found a whole new way to have fun with the M1.

I would be oh so tempted to place a rifle primer in the nosecone of that thing and attach a marble to the end. Fill it up with some flour and....presto....instant visual gratification on impact!!
Some people just need a sympathetic pat on the head.....with a hammer. Repeatedly.

On D-day my dad was going tbru basic training in Ark. That was the day he tried to fire a rifle grenade from a prone position. It's not something thet teach in the book. He carried the half moon scar in his eyebrow till the day he died.

Thanks for sharing that Dad. I miss you.

My CMP M1 came with complete grenade launcher sight in original package. Now it's time for a launcher to go with it.

Be careful though - some nothing-better-to-do/why-go-after-real-criminals-because-it-might-be-dangerous alphabet-agency goon might decide it's a 'destructive device' or if not that, an 'illegal fascimile' or some other nonsense, or failing that, just use it as an excuse to 'check' all your gun-related items (then you get to wonder if/when you'll get them back, and in what condition).

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but the recent case of the (link) - guardsman whose Olympic Arms AR-15 malfunctioned
is still fresh in my mind, and the history of that sort of thing goes all the way back to the (link) - Kenyon Ballew case in the 1970's.

Good point, however, I've talked to the local LEOs and State Police about them and the only one they would be leery of is the pineapple grenade version. Because it's part of a collection, they say I've nothing to worry about unless I'm threatening someone with one. The pvc ones will get fired soon and probably get torn up a bit. They won't look dangerous after that, just like beat up toys.
