Great photo, casastahle!

I'm curious about William Blades. Many years ago I read a fly tying book by a Willim F. Blades, Fishing Flies and Fly Tying. It was published in 1951 I now see by checking at Amazon and reprinted several times. He was well-known in fly fishing circles, and as I recall he was a sought-after instructor, noted for carrying a razor blade during his classes which he would use to cut materials off the hooks of his students whose work was not up to his standards. Bulldog, are you familiar with Blades? Think this could be the same guy?

Neat photo, Babe sure looks like he could have taken a bear with his bare hands.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Red, certainly know of William Blades fly books, but I don't know the answer.
I'll check with Mike Valla who might know.

I've been to Camp Bryan myself. Waaaay after Babe Ruth was there, though.
What amazes me is why all those rich folks from up north would come down and spend supposed "leisure time" in the wilds of eastern N.C.. I mean, I was born and raised in eastern N.C. and there's not much there but swamp, mosquitoes, sand and more swamp with more mosquitoes.

Babe Ruth was a big man, and I would have liked to meet him. Some folks were just larger than life.

Great photo !

I still remember reading The Babe Ruth Story (written with Bob Considine) when I was a kid.

Still remember the very first line in the book: "I was a bad kid."
