was up to the local gun shop he had a marlin 336rc in very used condition .
whats the rc stand for

thank you chuck i asked my dealer but he didnt known right off hand being he mainly deails in shot guns and bolt rifles .we got to bsing about other stuff and didnt follow up on it till now

They are very good shooters. If you can get into it right it would make a good project gun or a great truck gun as is. :D

chuck this gun is well worn has a scope and sling(not my favorite things) but he wants 3 bills for it i think thats a little pricy for a project gun has good character not sure what it should go for??????????

You can find them here for $150 +/-
He is proud of that one!! Maybe it belonged to George Washington or
Moses or someone notable!! :shock:

chuck igot that itch when you see some thing you want but i couldnt choke down that price plus i think the wife would have killed me with it if i brought it home i figured $200 max with the scope

Tell him you'll give him $150 without the scope or mount - since it is not your thing - and that is will be a project gun for you and you can't afford more. Worse he can do is say "no".

Then again, if you have the $150 in cash in your hand - and show him - it will be really hard for him to pass it up. Doesn't hurt to pull out a "Blue Book" and show him he's asking too much. Throw him back the sling too if it's not your style and you don't think you'll use it.
