Prayers for my family in Cagayan de Oro City PLEASE

Post by 6pt-sika »

A monsoon hit the city of Cagayan de Oro on Mindano in the Philippines . My fiancee her parents one sister and her nephew are okay and dry . However our daughter , my fiancee's oldest sister niece and nephew are in one of the flood areas and are stranded on the roof of their home .

Emergency rescue in this part of the Philippines is bad at best . Our daughter is 27 but she suffers from asthma so please any prayers for her safety and continued good health are appreciatted as well as prayers for the rest of our family .

God bless them all !

Wow your prayers and or thoughts must be DIVINE !

Right after I made the previouse post I got a message on my YM from my fiancee and she said the flood had subsided enough for them to get across the street to neighbor with 2 story house and get dry and under cover !

I now know the true meaning of feeling helpless to something for those you love !

They lost their home and personal items . And from what my fiancee most folks there have no insurance for such matters . So they pretty much I think have to start from scratch . However the fact that have the chance to rebuild is a blessing in itself !

I finally found out what happened with our little great niece . She and her mommy were climbing ontop their roof while the father was helping her older brother . The mother and the little girl slipped and fell into the water . The little girl slipped from her mothers grasp but she was quick enough to grab her hair and pull her back while the father jumped over and helped them back on the roof .

My daughter fell thru the roof of her aunties house as well but her auntie and two cousins pulled her back up thru the hole !

I wish I could have been there to try and help but I doubt seriousely if I could have done much .

I have talked with them several times over the phone now and a few times thru YM . They sound okay but I am sure the shock of the whole thing has not sunk in yet !

Been out in the field for a couple of weeks after a load of small game & birds-have to stock the larder, so....came home & laid up some prayers for that fine country & you're family. Been there several times & adored it. Still have old slides & pics of Manilla & Subic incl. the awesome sunsets west of Clark Field.

Glad they made it o.k. pard.

One question though....when are your gonna grab that fine lady and make her your own? Bout' time, don't you think?

A good loving wife is the treasure of a lifetime. Especially if she can gut a deer!

Merry Christmas Sika & hope you have a ton more pard.

Well to be honest the only thing holding up the "I do" part is the Philippine's Government !

She was married to my daughters biological father over 28 years ago and he pretty much abandonned them 20 years ago . She had never applied for an annulment until I met her 4 years ago . In the Philippines thay don't have divorce but rather they call it and annulment . We started the proceedings about 2 years ago and the court system in PI is F'd up and slow to say the least !
She had to go to court 5 times I believe before the court in Casgayan de Oro City was finished with it and then it was forwarded to a larger court in Manila for approval ! And that's what we're waiting on now !

It is my intention to take care of the nuptuals my next trip . And since she and I have the exact same birth date we are kinda thinking of doing the wedding the same day as well !
Yeah I know that sounds kinda lame , but it's a heck of alot easier for me to remmember if her Bday , my Bday and the wedding anniversary are all the same day !

So hopefully the wedding will transpire in July of 2012 ! So we both turn 51 and get married all in the same day !

I dunno how good she is at skinning and gutting a buck . But I'm pretty sure she has no problems with fish or seafood !
She doesn't need to skin the deer I actually like doing that as long as I'm not pressed for time . But I'm also quite certain she will ask to help me

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours as well LB !

I haven't been abroad a whole lot compared to guys that have been in the service or do international buisness . Mater of fact the only times I have been out of the USA were to go to the Philippines and in that time I've also been to Korea , Japan and Guam (I know Guam is a territory of the USA) . Korea was nice and the people I spoke with were also very nice but I was only in the Seoul airport . In Japan I flew into Tokyo (Narita) airport and had to stay overnight because of a Delt screwup and the people I saw there were all friendly and nice . Can't say I saw any of Guam as I flew in in the dark and left the same way but the people were friendly .

The Philippines however was a totally different ballgame . This is a third world country no getting around that . And you see loads of poverty etc there . However the people I go to see and their friends have to be some of the nicest and kindest people I know . I know alot of folks will say I have an unfairly biased opinion , and that very well may be true .

I just know the family , friends and even a good many of the staff at the hotel I use when I visit greet me warmly and openly . And yes a good many of the hotel staff are people I don not tip yet they still greet me kindly .
