Nagin doesn't know how to handle a weapon.

No surprise there.

Some of the local liberal TV reporters were sucking up to Nagin and saying there was absolutely nothing wrong with this because Nagin knew the gun was not loaded. They implied that the picture being published by the Times Picayune was a political attack on Nagin. Idiots.

I spoke with a friend who works for a democratic congressman here in Michigan.....he said that Nagin was on a short list of possible running mates for Hillary Clinton......he pointed out that Nagin on the ticket would remind people of Bush's failures in regards to Katrina, he's black, he's southern (popular in Texas & Florida), and he's just crooked enough not to take umbridge at playing fast & loose with the rules (his words not mine)

I'm not so upset by the photo as I am by the fact that this photo-op event displayed millions of dollars in SWAT-level equipment being thrown into a broken system that can't even afford to hire and train a competent police force. The needs of the citizens and visitors to the city are not being met, while a few incompetents within Nagin's police administration are throwing away millions of dollars by buying expensive toys to play with.

Hillary won't pick that fool because his "chocolate city" remarks would weaken the ticket. If she gets the nomination - or steals it (more likely), she'll pick someone like Bill Richardson or Evan Byah. If she has hurt the black vote in the process of trying to destroy Obama she'll pick Harold Ford out of TN.

I don't know who are worse - Nagin or the fools who re-elected him!

crs - first thing I did was grab the photo and set it aside. I'm amazed that the photo is still on line...

Gents,

Today's TP printed a retraction of the story, and said that they removed all of the evidence of it from later editions of the newspaper. The Times Picayune claims that someone reviewed video footage, which shows that Nagun did not point a rifle at Rilley, but just lowered it. The moment shown is just the rifle being repositioned, not pointed at Rilley. Well, I gotta say that those two girls sure look like they are playing "cowboys & injuns", or is it "cops & robbers"? ...what if they both are robbers? Are they playing "robbers & robbers"?
