back from the pig hunt

Post by txpete »

made it back yesterday from the pig hunt.came back empty handed but had a blast.
the bigger hogs were not coming into the feeders so it turned into getting into the thick bush and trying to get a shot.kind of like hunting 200 lb rabbit with tusks .
I had one shot on day 2 at some hogs mike flushed out of some cedars and they had the after burner on at 75 yards.
I was using my winchester 375 and got off 3 shots but didn't give it enough lead and saw the red dirt kick up right behind them.
in this pic they were 3/4 up that hill.

note the 1911.mike shot a pig and it went down but got up and yes the 45 acp is plenty for a head shot

I did see alot of hogs but in the thick brush it was hard to get a clean shot off before they disappeared into some thicker stuff.
the cost was 200.00 for hunting mon afternoon all day tues and a wed morning hunt.the cabin was very nice and clean.it had everything pots pans stove frig and a microwave.

That sounds like a fantastic price for 2 days hunting, and 2 animals. I might look into that. Any restriction on firearms??? Thanks, Art

What is it thaey say? The worst day hunting is better than the best day at work... :D
