Green Bay!

Post by RIHMFIRE »

I think it was a pretty good game....Glad Green Bay won...
I always seem to cheer for the underdog!
I did not watch the pregame or half time....
and I am already hearing they screwed up the national anthem
and the halftime show was really really bad.....

The half time show was horrible. Probably the worst half time show ever.
If they would have left Slash up there by himself and his guitar it would
of been a better show.Bad Bad Bad

I may get in trouble for this but the other day I got an e-mail pointing out that Green bay was America's team by virtue of beating Chicago thus stopping Obama and family attending the game at a cost of several million to us.Thought that was a very good point.

Okay game. I think after finally having my Saints there last year.....the year just didnt seem fun.

As for the halftime show....I think it all depends on age. I am not a fan of the Black Eye Peas but didnt necessarily like bands who were playing at the original Woodstock playing halftime either.

What about us guys who enjoy country music?

Rube, can you imagine Alan Jackson up there for Halftime? Or Cross Canadian Ragweed? I would like something like one of those two or any of a hundred others.

Sorry guys ---- I enjoyed the half time show! :D And Chrissy Aguilera? I'll give that fine lass a pass ----- nothing could be worse than Shania Twain's lip-synching at the '03 Bowl. (but i would explore forfeiting some of her fee if i was the bean counter)

As far as the game ---- the PAck slipped one in  It was a great game to watch ---- i saw a few glimpses of Big Ben's drive too that kept me guessing.
-------- the ghost of Brett Favre has been properly exorcised, --- the Pack moves on, and the Lombardi trophy gets to spend some time in the field house from which it was named ---truly cool

Great game, my team won and that's always nice. Pittsburgh threw too many interceptions but that was balanced by Green Bay's receivers apparently spraying their gloves with Pam before the game so there were plenty of mistakes on both sides. The MVP truly WAS the MVP and that's always nice when it happens.

The half-time show wasn't my cup of tea, but I think a lot of the problem with it was that FOX completely botched the sound - it was the worst audio mixing I've seen on TV in years, and for some reason TV seems to blow it lot.

Aguilera has always struck me as low class and she merely reinforced that opinion with her botched National Anthem. Pretty sad.

Agulara should never sing the anthem again. Gut wrenching. America the Beutiful was also destroyed. There are some songs that are not made better with artistic flair.
The half time show was a bust to me other than the body lights was cool from a distance.

Glad the Packers won. Not the best game, but far from the worst.

The sound was so bad it was if they'd put a mic in the stands and was streaming through it to the TV world. Instead of direct. I think the artistic impression of the singers needs to be tempered. They should sing the song as close as possible to the way it's meant to be sung.

I was kind of hoping the Steelers would win. I figure they gave the game away, the Packers didn't win it, they were just ahead when time ran out. Don't get me wrong, I also like the Packers, but it was kind of 51%Steelers/49% Packers for me. I liked the Steelers a long long time ago. The "Steel curtain".
Personally, I really didn't care who won, as long as it wasn't the Cowboys

Baseball, now thats another story in its entirety.

Course, now that you bring up the point that by the Packers beating Chicago, it kept Numnuts out of the stadium, then I can respect them a bit more

I would root for anyone playing against Pittsburgh! NA sucked, and the halftime sounded bad. Other than that, I really hardly cared about the game. Super Bowl games themselves are usually boring but this one was fairly good.

Terrible half time show ! But the best SB game I have watched since 1997! Can you tell Im from Green Bay? The wife commented after the game that the Steelers players and coach are a Class act! Shes right. Not anywhere near like Rex Ryan!

the announcers didn't seem to care much for the Packers. They were trying to give the game to the Steelers the whole show as if the Packers weren't even there, and as if the Steelers ever had the lead.

Given that TB was in the booth, that didn't surprise me much. I liked the way the Pack played the game. I thought they played well, suffered from only one blatantly bad call, and other than a lackluster 3rd quarter, were clearly the better of the two teams, yesterday!

As to the ½-time show, I switched channels... I love DirecTV! Watch a rerun of "Top Shots" and came back a few minutes into the 3rd. As for the National Anthemn, I think the producers got what they paid for... a personal rendition by a good artist. At least both pre-game songstresses (?) were talented, and could hold an note... unlike a fairly recent incident!

I agree with you there re. the coach. Very classy in a hugely disappointing loss.

I've been a Packer fan since the 60's so I won't go on about that other than to say, Yeah, I Happy! The National Antham was terribly done, the commercials were bad. I would have rather had every dog in my neighborhood stood on my front porch and barked for 30 minutes instead of watching that half time show. It's too bad that the game has taken a backseat to the Superbowl event. Now I want a three-peat.
