Browning BL-22?
I'm thinking of getting a lever 22 and would like some input on the Browning BL-22. Good? Bad? Indifferent?
Re: Browning BL-22?
Don't know, never shot one! But every one here who has like them and I don't think I have heard a bad word on them! I would have one and takes my 22's seriously.
Best wishes.

Re: Browning BL-22?
The BL22 is in first place by a country mile - for me, at least - (but, I confess, My lever rifles are all in the top area) Short throw, accurate, and reliable. A little tricky to reassemble but, other than satisfying one's curiosity, there is little reason to disassemble one - - easily cleaned without -
I outfitted mine with a Williams FP-GR rear aperture sight - ghost ring with aperture removed - attaches to scope grooves - no D/T needed (despite looks here - doesn't "catch" on things - it's been asked)
Required a taller (.5") front sight - I use a Williams white stripe blade.
Shoots LR, longs, & shorts - all in same magazine if desired.

Dunno current price - I paid $115 for mine in 1968 - from same dealer who sold me a Buffalo Bill Commemorative 94 for $90 and a Python (used but 98% condition) for $99 !!!
I long for those days -

Re: Browning BL-22?
I think the BL-22 is the best looking and slickest working of 22 lever guns, but they haven't been as accurate on average for me as the 9422's.

Re: Browning BL-22?
BL-22 is the best. I bought the field grade carbine with the nickel and engraved receiver for myself as a birthday present one year. The 24" octagon field grade didn't balance right for me. It'll keep a can rolling for the whole magazine.

I'll have to agree with JB. Mine looked great and worked super but was not as accurate as say my Marlin 39.

Re: Browning BL-22?
Thanks for the info, guys. What is the story on the BL-22 action? Is it a Browning design or something more recent?
