Loading H322 in the 30WCF

Post by 336A »

So far I've had good luck with this powder and Sierra 150gr FP bullets. My scoped Marlin shoots 1.5" to 2" groups at 100yd with 30gr of H322. I' got some loaded up 29.7gr which according to Sierra is the accuracy load with this bullet and should be traveling about 2200fps. Do any other forum members here use H322 in their .30-30 rifles?

I've used it with 150gr Speer Hot-Cor FSP , 31.4gr was the load. Not too shabby with accuracy....1.75-2.25" @ 100 yds. Velocity was right around 2250 fps from my Marlin with a 20" barrel. I now shoot 170gr bullets exclusively. If I ever go back to 150's that'll be the load I use.

Thanks, Tom

It is my standard powder in my old 336A with 150's and heavier. I think I also use 30 grains with the 150's and they chrono just over 2200 FPS. It is scary accurate!

Sure I did, around 31grn IIRC with the Speers. The good Winchester trapper would put then in 1 1/2" regular.

Things start getting nasty over 33grn   Tis' good powder.
