OT - Prayer Request for a Colleague - UPDATE

Post by lthardman »

I have never posted a prayer request before, but I just got some news that prompts me to do so now. I just heard from a business colleague and friend of 25 years. Yesterday morning, his son was leaving for work when he was approached by armed assailants. His son was shot twice with a handgun during the course of an attempted robbery. He dispatched himself quite well, tackling one of the assailants as the man cocked the revolver again. My friend's son appears to be doing as well as possible at this time. While one wound was a through and through, the other bullet is still lodged in his back after doing some damage to a lung. The doctors are waiting for some healing and stabilization of the lung before removing that bullet.

This is the kind of news that we as responsible gun owners hate to hear. Obviously, someone who should not own a gun used it in a heinous manner and that offends all of us.

I know my friend would appeciate any prayers you can send up for his son's complete recovery. I am sure he is in for a long recuperation.

Prayers sent, I hope he recovers fully and quickly.

I also hope they catch the bad guys before they do it again.

Prayers said! Sounds as though he's helped himself, too!

Prayers for your friend's son and his family. I hate hearing things like that. That's one of the reasons I do what I do.

I just spoike with my friend. His son is doing well, and is now home from the hospital despite the one remaining bullet in his back. The doctors await more healing of the lung before risking anesthetic and surgery to remove that last bullet.

The police have a suspect in custody. When my friend's son was attacked, he defended himself quite well. The suspect left his gun and other potential evidence behind after being tackled and roughed up by his "victim."

My buddy wanted me to be sure to thank everyone who sent good wishes for his son's recovery. For now, it looks like the prayers are being answered. Thank you all.

I just now saw this post. Prayers for a complete recovery sent. I hope the Perpetrator gets to see the full weight of the legal punishment. I am not asking for any revenge, just simply justice and legally administered punishment.
