OT Friends Updated
Just an update on the post about my elderly friends who were vicitims of senseless violence. He passed away two days after being beaten and shot. She was assaulted by all three bad guys and beaten. Then put in her car trunk and driven to an isolated location and left to die. She managed to free herself and summons help. The three are age 18, 20 and 15.....this past week the 15 year old was certified as an adult and the grand jury indited all three on First Degree Capital Murder, Kidnapping, Sexual Assault of the Elderly, Armed Robbery, Attempted Capital Murder and a weapons charges. DA has indicated he will go to trial seeking the Death Penalty.
These two friends had been married 62 + years and were both 82 years old. She is doing remarkably well....Please join me in praying for swift justice....

Thanks for the update. Too bad it will take so many years to end the scums miserable existance in this world even if they do get the death penalty.

Prayers for her and prayers that the Texas justice system lives up to its reputation.

lethal injection is too good for these vermin.
I'm sure we can come up with a more suitable punishment.
Drawn and quarterd sounds good to me.

If they still allowed it, I'd volunteer for the firing squad. Wouldn't aim for the heart on the first shot though.

Re: OT Friends Updated
+1 to everyone's comment on the fate these savages deserve.
The problem with the death penalty is the years between sentencing and implementation. I'm all for making sure innocent people aren't executed, but like everything else in life, there is a cost to dragging out the process indefinitely - the death penalty loses it's deterent impact. Not that I care too much - that isn't the main reason I support the death penalty. A dead scumbag is never a risk of escape, never a risk that he (or she) will harm another person, and not a drain of $40K a year to imprison. It is a message to society that yes, we value the victim and will sanction, with society's strongest measure, those who prey on others. It is not revenge - it is justice, and often anything less simply is not justice. But as any parent will tell you, the best punishment - the most effective punishment - has to contain three things. It must be swift, it must be sure, and it must be unpleasant. "Sure" in that it is consistently and fairly applied. "Unpleasant" in that the punishment makes the crime not worth the risk (the death penalty certainly applies). The problem is the "swiftness" (and now, with the idiotic "hate crimes" laws, the "sureness" is also at risk).
Sorry for the rant - prayers to the soul of the man and for the strength of the woman - and that the DA is strong enough NOT to plea this down one iota.

Re: OT Friends Updated
There should be some crimes where the penalty after trail is to hand them over to the victims family and friends!
THIS IS DEFINATELY ONE OF THEM!

+1 on that. I heard in some American Indian tribes, that was a fairly common implementation of justice.horsesoldier03 wrote:There should be some crimes where the penalty after trail is to hand them over to the victims family and friends!

Tie 'em to a highway fence, and invite the public to stop in and shoot off various small parts of their anatomy. Dollar a shot -- 6 for $5.00
