Daughter has a birthday, gets a rifle and she likes it. Priceless. Definitely a memory to cherish.

Haw boy! Let the fun begin. When she is safe enough to cock it herself you can use the leather loop trick so she can pull it easy.

There is no doubt she is ALL girl. I mean Barbies, stuffed animals, painted fingernails and Hanna Montana. But she has taken quite an interest in shooting this summer. I thought if she had her own rifle that she picked out, and one that fit her, it may be easier for her interest to grow in the shooting sports.

The dog is pretty cool. He's a piebald mini dachshund. We have never seen another one like him. He's a stubborn little dude though. If he gets out loose he'll run a quarter mile to go say hi to somebody, ignoring your cursing at him the whole way.

Dave, thanks for the leather loop idea. I bought my daughter one of those rifles when she was 4 (at her request), and we've been shooting it when we have the chance ever since. She's 7 now, but the little knob is tough to pull on for little fingers. She can do it now, but it's still tough. I'll rig that up tomorrow for her. We've fed her rifle shorts from day one, but I don't like the peep sight on it too well. It doesn't provide a good sight picture with the wide post front IMO.

Very cool. Showed her pic to my wife (a new gun owner herself) and she smiled while saying "Pink!"

Nice idea!!!! my kids got all excited about that. They have savage cubs with thumbhole stocks and they are a little hard to pull the bolt but the accu-trigger is sure nice!
