OT - Wolf Hunting With Golden Eagles In Mongolia

Post by don Tomás »

I didn't even know that such a thing existed, but then, what I don't know could probably fill a book (maybe 2 books?? :D ). Very graphic and you can tell the PETA types really have their panties in a bunch as evidenced by some of the comments listed for the video. Bet the Mongolians have been hunting like this since before they had BBQ. Oh, check out about 2 1/2 minutes into the video: a wolf seems to be getting the better of an eagle until he's blind-sided by a second eagle. Found myself rooting for the wolf. Anyway, the whole video kinda left me speechless, other than a "wow"...

I first saw these type videos a couple of years ago. The video I was introduced to was hunting deer with a golden eagle. Pretty fascinating.

Awesome. Just goes to show that hunting is ingrained in every culture through the ages.

Cool music, too...

You know - it IS about time for the "too many OT posts" post...

...but how could we take it seriously if it were complaining about cool OT posts like this one...

Looks like more of a coyote relative than a wolf. Still, that eagle is alot tougher than I though they'd be. Very interesting video.

Like Deerwhacker, I was thinking those ere either mighty small wolves or mighty big eagles.

Did y'all notice the segmtent where the wolf had the eagle down until a second eagle swooped in? Did y'all notice the eagle who'd been pinned down came up fighting claw and bek? Tough birds IMO. REal tough!!

Yeah, those bird command my respect ..... fought as a team, fought on the ground, and kept on fighting. There's a lesson in that for all noble-minded men.
