OT - FWIW/Leave of Absence...

Post by Old Ironsights »

Starting September 13 I will be.... mostly unavailable... and posting very sparingly from my PDA/"OI phones in" account as I will be stationed in Guernsey Wyoming for 10 weeks with very little access to the net.

I gotta go show these kids that a 42 y/o can still compete in a basic-training-like enviornment.

All of my "go-to" guns are coming with me, but will necessairly/sadly be kept in storage except for scheduled shooting events.

Pray for me while I have .357 DTs...

As I am packing/working on the Condo the next week, I will not be online as much as my normal (un(der)employed) self - but I'll be checking in.

I'm walking into the woods for a minute. Keep the campfire hot, hey?

Good luck! I truly hope your "basic training" experience wasn't like mine... I grew 2" in height, gained 20 lbs. and went from a size 10-½ sneaker to a size 9!

Something they fed me turned on a growth switch, lack of real exercise (surfing real - farm work) made me flabby; and constant confinement of my dogs made something happen! Surely it wasn't a sizing error!!!

I met him today, and he looks halfway between his 'claimed' age of 42, and being a kid - all slim and fit.

I think he'll give the 'kids' a run for their money.

Maybe I shoulda offered to babysit all his guns while he was out there...

OI, my friend, you are in my prayers and you can be sure, your place by the fire is reserved and the talk round here will feel the effect of your missing posts. May blessings follow you in your transition. Go with him and ROCK THE COURSE!

WEAR CLEAN UNDERWEAR! (Hey, that's what mama always said) Best of luck O.I., and show 'em that those of us over 40's can still show the young bucks a thing or two.

OI, glad all is working out for you. Will keep you and your wife in prayer. Gonna miss those shoots at Knox though. BTW the 513T hasn't drawn blood yet but I'm working on it, just got permission to hunt a squirrel woods that is virutally untouched, and the owners says "kill as many as you can carry".....
