Post by 86er »

This levergunner Jim Shepherd did not have a large enough lever rifle to be legal in South Africa. I gave him my 375 with the Rhino 380 gr bullets for the trip. This morning, he absolutely hammered a huge Cape Buffalo and an impala. Congratulations Jim! More stories upon returning to the US.....

Fantastic! Kudo's to Jim. Kinda curious though, how much bigger is a Cape Buffalo than a Musk Ox?

WOW! and on the first day of the hunt! Good Show!

Since Jim is also a DWWC member, maybe we can get him to do a cameo appearance at the September meeting when 86er and Chris Troskie speak at the dinner program. :)

8) Cool hunt. Great shootin' to him and good huntin'. Looks like a fun way to spend the summer. (Well I guess it is actually winter over there....? :? ) Still a great kill.

Where this bull was taken it would by Nyati, not M'bogo. It was taken near Kwazulu Natal. Subtle differences in the local language. Black Death nonetheless!

Thanks for correcting me, Joe. I now know two words for that big, dangerous, and tough critter. Some day I'll get my chance at one in Africa. When I do, you can bet it will be with you guiding me.

Jim has replied VIA Blackberry that he will be a contributor to the presentation by Joe and Chris. By then, he may have taken some more interesting trophies!

Look at the shot placement! Every shot is perfect in the fatal triangle. Boy - he follows direction really well! I taught him everything he knows  Congratulations Jim!
