2nd cut alfalfa, irragated, fertilized, and put up with no rain on it. The RFV is 224 that will make cows bloat in about two days!! free choise that is.

and meet my drivers for the day Miranda is 9 and dawson is 7 they drove the truck around the hay field to load it so I did not have so far to haul it with the tractor.

Looks like you have a bit of breeze there. What part of the country is that?

That's cool. A big load to drive at that age. I helped my dad once pick up bales and I put the front end into the ditch. I couldn't put the clutch in and see where I was going at the same time. I had to roll my tush off the front seat and more or less stand up, but my chin was at about the bottom of the steering wheel. Still remember that. He had to go get a neighbors tractor and pull us out.

My wife and I just looked at the pictures and she reminded me of my grandson at 9 driving the pickup while the two of us loaded hay. You are doing right by them that's for sure.

Rafter-7,
Thanks for sharing the pics... that's just SO COOL! I'll just BET the kids were ready & willin'! When I read "nose candy" I was thinkin' "chrome" and what a waste! But the hay is lookin' good! Kids look super! Don't burn 'em out on that drivin'... come a time soon enough that it'll be the LAST thing they want to do... helpin' out 'round the farm. But, if you're patient, I've found that's only a temporary thing, my kid is more willin' to do stuff to help out now that he's in his 30's than he has since he was a teen.
A lucky man you are... for sure!

7, Its feels good when you get the hay in the barn those are some big bales I put up smaller rounds with twine 1000lb, getting ready for second cutting now as the rain has put me off for a couple of weeks. Kids are a blessing moms wont say anything infront of them but you get the look and when your alone are you sure they wont get hurt talk. danny

Funny how the women are willing to let you go risk life & limb, but it all changes when the kids are around.
