Pics from Wilmore Wilderness

Post by xxclaro »

Myself and 3 friends went up to the Wilmore Wilderness here in Alberta last weekend. I was a wrangler for a sheep hunting oufit up there about 6-7 years ago, and fell in love with the place. No motorized vehicles are allowed in, so it's remained quite prisitine. I believe Jack O'Conner shot his first Rocky Mountain bighorn there. Anyway, it was a fantastic trip. We were able to use the front porch of a trappers cabin for shelter, as we don't bring in any tents, just a couple tarps. Luckily he was away for a couple weeks, and the area is just fantastic, so we felt very forunate that we were able to use it. His name is Basil Leonard,a great old guy, quite well known in those parts. We had some elk show up and come right up to the cabin, which was pretty exciting.I shot a bunch of video and pics, here's a few: Image

Wow, beautiful pics. That is one fat elk. Do they all get that fat in the summer or is that one on the obese side?
