They were supposed to - but I can't get the software to extend anything like it is supposed to allow. I aplogize for any inconveniences. This is in the spirit of supporting the FORUM, so it should be just fun and not competitive. Auctions are still open and anything still open will close FRIDAY AT 6PM CST.
Thanks to everyone that donated and purchased!

Hey, I never got around to asking, and also thinking it was this friday, I still have both of my donated items so should I just send them to their new owners?

Yeah - I'm doing the best we can here. The first time people complained that it was "live" only, the next time it was bidding at the last minute and people couldn't get on the site, etc, this time we ran it a few weeks in advance and did the best we could with the limited software. Looks like $600 so far and maybe another $100 or so pending.

Well Joe, it looks like I'll have to come up with something better next time. My cylinder bags sure didn't do much good did they?

Hey Joe...just a thought on the shipping. The USPS has a fixed price box in three sizes. Mail up to 55 pounds for $8.10. Any chance we can use that option for multiple items? Also, any books can be sent very cheaply via media mail, generally $2-$3. It also seems kinda strange that the three books bought in one auction counts as one item, as is shipped at $7.50, though the package will be larger and heavier than a box with multiple small items won by someone else. I know it's only $5-$6 difference overall, but in these times, every penny counts.

If you are sure your item(s) weight will qualify for a flat rate you can include just the flat rate you calculate. The books were priority Media Mail, hence cheaper. There were a few other very light items that I quoted at $7.50 even though they were multiple items. Any extra is going to be donated anyway.

Joe, thanks to you and Ricky for a great job on the auction. Although there were some issues with the site software, it was nothing you guys could have prevented. And certainly, there's no way we could run an auction without an online bidding option (as you discovered in past years). So, all in all, I think it worked out fine. While a few more bucks might have been made with a couple of late bids, I think the same people would have won the items since it looked like most of the bidders were pretty much done. And, you made over $600 for the forum -- more than last year. So I say.... Congratulations and well done!!

Quick note on the shipping-

I sent a Flat Rate box and it cost $10.45

I had to purchase a few boxes to send stuff in that went parcel, because the box + shipping was a little less than using the Priority Mail free box with shipping.

The S/H I quoted will be very close. One box costs $15.65 - more than I collected. Whatever is over will come out of the total for the forum.
