OT Beware of falling cartridges

Post by gamekeeper »

As far as I know this is for real:

Eight people have been injured in a shooting at a French nursery school.

Eight Hurt In French Nursery School Shooting Police said a man began firing an air gun at mothers picking up their children from Harmony nursery school in Lyon.
It is understood there are no serious injuries.
Police have surrounded the area and are attempting to find the gunman.
The school is in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon.
The parents were going to collect children when the incident occurred at around 11.30am French time. No children have been injured.
Two of the injured suffered minor head injuries and none required hospital treatment.

According to the local prefecture, one policeman who tried to intervene was hit by falling cartridges but was not hurt.

I wonder if part of this story got lost in translation??

Perhaps something was lost in translation, or maybe it's just another dumba** reporter. Our local paper loves reporting on any incident involving a ".12 guage" shotgun. Now, by my calculation, that sucker would have to fire about an 8-pound ball and, by all rights, should have wheels on it. I've also seen them go on about a "semiautomatic revolver", and a "Smith and Weston" revolver on more than one occaision.
