I guess based on the title alone you could think it was a negative or a positive. Well this is about the positive:
The unbelievable, generous, unselfish, caring members of this forum have pulled off the following just this month:
Sent two deserving hunters on a trip of a lifetime with fellow members
Sold items at great discounts to help other members afford them.
Purchased items from members to help fill their holiday purse.
Funded a Sword for Mr. Reed.
A couple of members tricked out a 357 lever for another forum member to be presented for Christmas.
Sent gifts for an unfortuntate person having a rough holiday season
Passed on prayers, support and advice to others in need.
AND TODAY -
I received a new lever action rifle, headset, eye protection, cleaning kit, case and ammo to sponsor a new young shooter. This member that sent the rifle contacted me and expressed interest in sponsoring a child that had a strong interest in shooting but was not likely to have the opportunity because shooting is not part of their family. I found several likely candidates and submitted the names and bio and background to this member via e-mail. He chose a 15 year old girl and she will receive the rifle and accessories under her Christmas tree this evening!
What a great group to associate with! Happy Holidays to Everyone!
86er, 86her and the boys.

I thought the post would be positive the minute I read the subject line. But I can see how someone could read it the other way. I'm sad for those who have such a jaded view of things on Christmas Eve, of all days.
This is a great post and a nice story, 86er. It's truly a great forum and I'm thankful to be a part of it, and to share in the knowledge and generous spirit of the membership. Thanks to all who work hard to make this the great place it is.
And Merry Christmas!
Rob

Can we get an "Amen!"?
This is just one of the reasons that no matter where my shooting interest take me from time to time, I like to pop back in here on occasion to get an affirmation that the world hasn't gone completely mad...

Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits.

Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words give you a feeling. Republic is one of those words that makes me tight in the throat . . . . Some words can give you a feeling that makes your heart warm. Republic is one of those words.

Amen! There's no other forum, that I've been a part of, that does the things this one does. I'll never forget it and I hope it continues to make a statement for other forums to live up to. How about another "Amen"!
I'd like to thank all the members of this forum for being upstanding people. Sometimes hard to find these days.

And Joe, it is your angel spirit that leads the parade. I am honored to be a part of this forum.
