New mini-series: Stretching a butt stock part 1

Post by Wind »

Well boys, you took your best rifle hunting in the rain and when you got home you found the stock had shrunk. A revolting development!! What do you do?? You find that one in a million gun, exercising your gun show loop-hole. The only thing wrong is that Bubba has cut down the butt stock to fit his hamster. What do you do?? Every time you pull the trigger on your favorite singleshot, that midrange tang sight goes halfway up your nose!! What do you do?? Well I'm here to tell ya. Stretch that butt stock. Grab a big bowl of pork rinds and we'll see if I can walk you through it. There are definitely alot of firsts in this post tonight. (Man I hope this works...) Wind

I think your idea on posting it this way works. I like it. Sorry that I can't change the font size for you.

Wind,

Cool post!! There is no doubt about it, you've got talent!!!

You may not be able to shoot lever actions very well, but your wood working ability makes up for it!!! HA!!!

See you at the match this Saturday, oh by the way IF AND THAT IS A BIG IF you beat me, its because I'll be getting home from Hood River LATE Friday night and won't get a good enough sleep to keep me STEADY!!!

Fun shooting your Shiloh today but I still believe it to be sac relig to be shooting smokeless in it!!!! I STILL think thats a heavy barrel. Weigh it for me would you???

Sneaking down to Hood River to see how the Oregonians grow apples?  Better take that old 1893 out and beat them all with litle or no sleep! :D

Man - There is nothing like getting slandered on your own post!! Hey Geoff, I'll stay awake from now 'til Saturday, and let you poke me in the eye with a sharp stick (your choice of eyes) and will still beat you by three critters!! Really watch your top knot!! Wind

Vall,

I've got 2 days of pear meetings down there in Hood River. Some pretty doggone good pears get grown in Oregon, Hood River and down at Medford. Sure I'll learn some good stuff. By the way, send Wind up some CROOKED sight or one that malfuntions in some aspect or another. He's pretty cocky now that he is the proud owner of a Marlin 39A. I didn't realize he had Marlin envy so bad before!!!

Wind,

If you would load that .30WCF of yours even UP TO .30 Carbine power level I'd feel a lot better about things being equal. I'm dealing with some recoil. I swear you must've gone thru Albert Einstein advanced physics to come up with a formula that gives you JUST ENOUGH ft lbs to topple a RAM. When I was spotting for you last month I had to take my hearing muffs off just so I could hear your gun go off and know when to look!!!! LOL

Historical footnote: Old age and treachery prevailed again and the young whipper GEOFF went down in flames by over twice my estimate. It's good to be King. Wind

Wind,

WELL GEEZ THAT HURTS!!!!!!!! I shoot the WORST match of my life, come home to lick my wounds, get on levergunners for some UPLIFTING message and find YOUR words of derision!!!

What a BAD DAY!!!! Nothing went right!

I thought I'd find something wrong with the bore, leading or something. Went out when I got home and shot a 50 meter group offhand about 3", not bad for .45 GVT 500 grainers slapping ya!! Nothing wrong with the gun or load but for some WEIRD reason today everything was shooting WAY LEFT!!!! I THINK IT IS THE OBAMA EFFECT!!!

As much as it pains me to say it I even found myself missing your spotter ability.

Well, like McArthur, I SHALL RETURN!!

I should've done what Vall said and used the .38-55!

Geoff

p.s. You can STOP GRINNING NOW!!!!

P.S.S. SO EVERYONE KNOWS I SHOT A 19 OUT OF 40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.S.S WIND SHOT A 26 OUT OF 40, NOT THAT GREAT FOR USING SOME KIND OF BUFFALO GUN SOULE REAR SIGHT AND MOUSE LOADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.S.S.S MATCH WINNER WAS AT 33 OUT OF 40 USING AN 1894 WINCHESTER IN .30WCF
