OT: Where to find hard to find owners manuals

Post by J Miller »

I would like to get an owners manual for my Iver Johnson's Cattleman.
I have the original box, and a foldout catalog from that period of time so I would like an original if possible.

I went to stevespages.com and found he's pulled all his owners manuals. Does anybody know of another source for owners manuals?

Joe, there are quite a few old manuals on ebay. search "Iver Johnson'" and see what you get. Might take a while, but a daily check will eventually get you one. You can "save this search" and they will email you when something comes up.

I suppose I could look on eBay. But I no longer have a paypal account and eBay has made it all but impossible to buy without one.

I think that model was in the Gun Digest Book of Firearms Assembly/Disassembly, Part II Revolvers. You should be able to find one of those on ebay or most Barnes & Nobles store.

Oops, sorry. I guess the above advice would be good if you just wanted to take it apart, but I see now that you're looking for an original. Never mind!

http://sourceforge.net/projects/reloadersrfrnce/

Wiljen has compiled reloading data from all over the place, copies of owner's manuals, and tons of other errata into a database. It's so huge, you need to download it in sections! You may be able to just grab the "ManualsG-M.exe" and see if that gets you the Iver Johnson stuff you need.

handyrandyrc,

Well I went there and you are right, it's a big site. I couldn't find anything but reloading. Not that that is bad, but if there is more, I couldn't find it.

Thanks for the link. It might come in handy for data.

Don't bother with Cornell Pubs; they don't even have a reproduction manual for that gun.

Hi Joe, that's to bad about Stevespages.

Here is a schematic and parts list.

That's the best I could come up with.

Scott,

Thanks for the link. Besides the fold up catalog I have an original price sheet with all the Iver Johnson's gun from 1974, and a parts price sheet for 1975. It would have been way cheeper if I had rebuilt this thing many years ago.

Ed,

Sorry, but I don't think two Klondike bars and a Cabellas catalog would be enough.
I've had this thing since 1975 and have decided that my wife will decide who gets it "after" I croke. That is assuming I don't have it buried with me.

airedaleman,
I'd forgotten about Cornell Publications. Thanks for checking them for me.

Well, I'll keep on looking. Somebodies gotta have one they want to sell or give me.
