Hammer block safety mod, need suggestions

I found this old rifle and since it has no safety and I got a brand new Black and Decker for christmas, can anyone tell me where I need to drill the hole so I can install a hammer block safety? I sure dont want this old gun to be unsafe.
I was thinking if there was a hole located just right, a 16 penny duplex nail and a rubber band would do just fine.
what do you think?
