Some time ago, I told the forum about finding a Savage 99 .358 Winchester; in the gunsmiths junk pile.
I would like to poll the forum about a good set of iron sights for this thing, usually use glass, but I think iron sights on this one is the way to go.
So, you Savage shooters , what do you use for iron sights?

Re: Advice
Thanks for the suggestions, like those old time sights!
Stay tuned for more treasures from the " junk pile " the city has told them the place where the "junk" is must go by the end of January.
We will be sorting through it, and transfering it to my place in N.M.
I have no restrictions at my place.
I suspect more goodies to come out of there once clean up commences.

Re: Advice
I am putting a vintage receiver sight on mine (Lyman 56) and have a Lyman 57 SB for a later Savage 99 available.mescalero1 wrote:Some time ago, I told the forum about finding a Savage 99 .358 Winchester; in the gunsmiths junk pile.

I'm not sure when the change was made but if you measure the mounting holes they should be about 1/2 inch for the 57.
PM if interested.
