Anyone using the Lee Load Master progressive press?
I just got one from a friend, very cheap. He bought it cheap, in used and un-working
condition (lots of parts loose in the box), and decided he didn't have time to play with it to get it working. I haven't touched it yet, but before I invest the time I wanted to get some opinions on whether the press is worth the time and perhaps $ it will take to get it running? I already have a Hornady Lock and Load, which is great; I figured I'd dedicate this Lee press to 9mm.

Not with that model. I like Lee's stuff. I know some here don't, but I just find they make the best value for the money. Not the best period, and not the cheapest either - just a good compromise for the average shooter. I'll be interested how it works for you, as I have considered getting a progressive machine, and would prefer to stick with Lee since they make up 95% of my reloading gear.
Good luck!

Lee is a very customer friendly company. If you're having problems with it a quick call to them will help. The first thing to do is to get the manual out if there is one. If not that would be my first call to them.

I bought one when they first appeared and used it to crank out .40 S&W and .45 ACP rounds for practical pistol. I found there were too many small plastic parts for reliable operation and if you lost concentration for a few seconds the thing would get out of synch and break something. In the end I gave it away to someone I didn't like very much.
I like Lee products and have lots of their stuff but I think this one was a step too far at the time. Maybe they have ironed the bugs out by now but I'll stick with my Rockchuckers.

I'd call them and see if maybe you could send it to them for assembly... or as mentioned just to get the proper manual. They are very good to work with.

I think OSOK's advice is great! Don't try to mess with it, just send it to Lee and have them assemble it. They'll repalce whatever needs done, and send it back.
