My camera is low on batteries so I don't have any pictures to post on this but I am trying to identify a jar full of .22 ammo that a nice lady gave me.
Its marked "U"
OAL=.906"
Diameter=.243"
Diameter of rim=.300"
Thickness of rim=.055"
I don't know what the projectile weighs as I really didn't want to pull any of them.
Looking through my Cartridges of the World, I think it is either 22 Win. Auto or 22 Rem Auto. Unfortunately, it doesn't tell the difference between the two.
Any help would be appreciated.

My Grandfather bought me about 10K rounds of Remington standard velocity .22lr @ 1970 or so. Took me about ten years to go through it all with
a single shot Savage, Stevens Favorite.
Still have it.

The picture blows but,
It's
Good stuff.

I bet it is Rem auto from your measurements. What rifles shot that caliber?arjunky wrote:U is a Remington headstamp.

Don't quote me, but I think it was interchangeable with the Winchester .22 auto in the 1903.
.22 Winchester Auto. Bullet .222, Neck .225, Base .250, Rim .310, Case length .665, OAL .915.
