OT: Wife's first eye surgery - report

Post by J Miller »

First eye done, second to go in 10 days.
We got home about 1:15PM and wifie is resting. She had a reaction to the sedatives they gave her. They made her dizzy and nauseous. She's sleeping now.
She did make one comment about how much better her vision was already.
Plus they gave her a neat set of shades to wear.
She has a follow up appointment with local eyeball DR in the morning, just to make sure everything is OK.

Thanks for all the help, prayers and good wishes, we do appreciate them.

Joe

Ed, I will.

Right now she's still sleeping off the effects of the drugs. 7:41PM. Hopefully she'll be over it by tomorrow. The people at the eye clinic in Bloomington have noted it in her charts to do different meds next eye. I sure hope so.

Best wishes and prayers for your wife. I hope her surgery will be as successful as my wife's. Her vision after the lens implants
(done a number of years ago by a young doctor in Southbridge, Mass.) is absolutely phenomenal. Again, all the best!

I woke wifie up at about 8:30 to do her eye drops and she said: Wow, I can read the clock, I can read the other one too. Then she looked across the house and said, I can see Obie ( our black and white male cat ).

Now she's comparing her vision and her right is so much better than the left it's a reversal from before. She just said, " I might be able to drive better now".... I hope so.

Joe, Your choice of eye doc is a lot better outcome than the gun doc who worked on the marlin bolt gun :) , sure glad for that!!! My wife had a cornea transplant 2 summers ago, it isn't the sweetest trial to go through but she can still see, and see good!! Glad for you my friend, keep us posted.

The check up this morning went very well. The Dr said he was very happy with the results considering just how hard the cataract in her eye was. They numbed her eyes down and tested the ocular pressure and said both eyes were normal.
After that the subject of her eyeglasses came up for driving. The Dr said that before this surgery my wife was legally blind in both eyes. Now with the surgery in the one eye she can legally pass the IL driving vision test. And she's been delivering pizza at night like this. Wow....... :o

So after next week she should have enough vision improvement to really see good.

OK guys, here's the best report I can think of giving: I was doing some measurements on the IJ when I dropped a tiny end shake shim in the carpet. I was at the point of getting down on my knees with a flash light when from the other chair my wife said: "I see it, there it is." All I can say is: WOW!!!!
Now I got somebody to help me find my parts when I drop 'em. :D
