Winchester 94 Wrangler

Post by 4t5 »

I ran across one of these in a gun store today, second hand safe queen, beautiful figured wood with cut checkering in a fleur de li pattern. had a few scratches on one side of the metal butt plate ,roll engraved receiver very nice, this is a 32 win.special, don't have any experience with that cal, but the gun is purdy, they're asking $599. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK.GOOD DEAL YEA OR NEA, ALREADY HAVE A WIN 375, BUT THAT SHORT BARREL AND LARGE LOOP SURE HAVE A COOL FACTOR!

I just noticed the saddle ring was not there as is on other wranglers, pictured on the net.

Not surprising. Is the hole there?
I've never seen fleur de li factory engraving on a Winny.
$599 is a litle high for me, but the 32 is a great round and I dearly love the Trapper length. Sounds like a pretty gun! I look forward to seeing pictures when you get it!!!
Kind regards,
Tycer

The Wrangler I have is 32 special and I think has a wagon train scene engraved on the receiver. The saddle ring Winchester uses is a different thread pitch than after market ones. I was using mine yesterday deer hunting. Just so you know the the large loop looks great on the wall but is pretty worthless when levering . I replaced mine with a standard lever. I think the price is little steep. I paid $200 for mine but that was 6 years ago. You can run across a trapper without the big loop for less.

With 170 grain bullet the 30-30 and 32 special are balistically equel.

Trappers are sweet, and I haven't ever seen one in 32. The price I'll pay depends on how badly I want it.. That would be a fun Trapper though.
