Don't know if this helps but I just paid 497 before tax for a new Marlin 1894, in 45 Colt, with safety, round 20" barrel, plain lower grade wood stock.

Offer 4 bills, but be prepared to pay the asking price, it's not bad.

Offer 4 bills :) , but be ready to walk  , I read once that you should never be afraid to walk away from a deal. There's always another deal. Crazy to buy some things at full price, just be patient, you'll get a better deal usually. I picked up a mint beauty in S&W 27-2----8 3/8 tube this summer for 390.00 on of all places the Gunbbroker. 20 to ship. I can hardly know it's been shot it's so perfect, those things are 600 sometimes or more. Mines in a walnut box. Make them an offer, and be surprised--- :D maybe!!

Before you leave, give them your phone number and ask them to call you if they have a change of heart. Often they'll let you walk out, but if they can call you they may decide to take an offer.
