haven't gone shooting in 3 months

so I decided to hit the silhouette range today instead of tromping around the Angeles entertaining the deer. Our range complex had recently burned in a brush fire, no buildings were lost, just a few police cars. Driving in was a little eerie.

I had 150 rounds of my first load, a .357 158 gr round nose over 7.5 grains of Blue Dot. That load goes with my Win 94 Legacy in .357.

That is a nice rifle for target accuracy, it shoots well with just about any ammo and very well with a tailored load. I think the heavy barrel has something to do with it. That model came in 44 mag and 45 Colt, and I think the .357 is made from the same blank. The barrel walls are quite thick.

Anyway, I have a 2-3 pound trigger on it, it breaks pretty clean. The weight gives it good stability in the wind.

Had a great time learning to shoot all over again! My first round I got a 25, second 31. The third round I shot in reverse, rams first. This usually works well for me (why mess with the tang sight when it's already set from the last round). I was doing well here, too, I had a 30 with 5 chickens left to go.

Ok, so I missed the last 3 chickens, but I still had a great time and got a respectable score.

Just got out today, first time in many moons. Stepson invited me to go shoot with some of his friends. Wound up 8 of us going out to shoot. Took my 50 cal B/P along just for fun. There was a lot of intrest in it and everybody wanted to shoot it. (I took plenty of powder and stuff just in case). One of the guys has decided he wants a M/L now. Had a good day and the group invited me to go anytime there going. I'am 30 plus yrs older than the group, but they want me to go and teach and 2 guys want me to teach them to reload. Looks like my weekends gonna be tied up for a while.
