Sweet little shooter yo have there :D Have you used trail boss in many other cartridges? I was thinkin of pickin some up for plinkinloads.
With a .45cal entrance wound I don't worry too much about bullet expansion.

I've used Trail Boss in .45 Colt, .45 Schofield, and .44 Russian - and I really like the powder!!! :D

I guess it would have been easier to just edit the previous posts! I've also tried it in a light .45-70 load, and it worked fine there as well, though I still prefer AA5744 in the .45-70...

Check the caliber marking on the left side of the barrel!
.22-15 SS or better known as the .22-15-60 Stevens.

I have the big brother in a Stevens chambered for .25-21 Stevens.

Bullberry will chamber a barrel for your Contender in .25-21 or .25-25 Stevens. I've an article where the author got about 2000 fps from the .25-25 in a Contender. Obviously that is NOT what these cartridges were originally.

It is an original Stevens this one was built a long time ago.

the cart. was doomed at the begining with such a small bore the black powder fouled out fast. Then smokless came out and there were bigger fish to fry so ended the 22/15/60 basically what it is is basicaly a 22 magnum

The hardest thing to find is 22/15 with the original chamber in it most were cut out to hornet, bee and the like

sorry for the slow reply I've been pouring concrete (basement) that has proved quite challenging in the cold weather
